UPM presented the workflow management system of the BD4QoL project and expectations from the beta version at the IUPESM WORLD CONGRESS (https://wc2022.org/). People treated for head and neck cancer (HNC) frequently face many difficulties in self-managing their daily life and need to overcome diverse social and health-related barriers. Thus, a coordinated and proactive personalized health care to monitor after treatment follow-up, quality of life (QoL) and to actively support lifestyle recommendations is urgently needed. In this work we present a Workflow Management System (WfMS) using not only clinical records but also QoL related data, embedding these data sources into clinical trial protocols. Within the context of the BD4QoL European project (https://www.bd4qol.eu/), an innovative Point of Care (PoC) application to support HNC survivor’s follow-up has been created. This novel vision of a WfMS will support anticipating risks and informing patients and caregivers of personalized interventions to timely intercept and prevent any possible long-term effects of treatment, either physical or emotional.
