BD4QoL provides people after Head and Neck Cancer treatment and the different medical specialists involved in their care with an unobtrusive, privacy compliant, real-time monitoring and supportive environment, integrating Big Data-driven AI algorithms and in-silico models, mobile and wearable devices already in-use for real-time assessment of individual Quality of Life (QoL), that will guide timely and personalized interventions.
Behaviour reconstruction and sentiment analysis algorithms will allow early detecting new diseases, onset of depression, social discomfort and signs of quality of life deterioration and to empower individual support.
The realized tools will be experienced by more than 400 people having undergone head and neck cancer treatment in a multicentre randomized controlled trial in Italy and UK, to evaluate their effectiveness for quality of life improvement and for early detection of new diseases.
A pilot experience in Lombardy Region will integrate the collected quality of life indicators into the individual patients' electronic health folder available to the general practitioners and specialized physicians, to inform personalized and comprehensive disease management.
Usability and cost-effectiveness analysis will assess the translation potential of BD4QoL into clinical practice.
