SEPI will present an oral contribution entitled “Separazione dal lavoro nei pazienti con tumore della testa e del collo: analisi sui dati delle carriere lavorative linkate allo Studio Longitudinale Torinese“ (Separation from work in patients with Head and Neck cancer: analysis of career data linked to the Turin Longitudinal Study) within the session of Occupational Epidemiology.
The presentation will focus on the work done under the BD4QoL project exploiting the Occupational Database with the aims of studying the relationship between Head and Neck cancer and employment status and identifying the patient profiles most at risk of separation from work after the diagnosis.
The topic, still little studied, is of central importance considering the high share of people of working age diagnosed with cancer. Mapping the factors that influence participation in work is useful for defining effective reintegration programs. Furthermore, this work demonstrates the importance of integrating health and administrative sources to respond to the needs of patients recovered from cancer.
