February 4th is the World Cancer Day. Among the unmet needs in the fight against cancer is survivorship care. The EU-funded BD4QoL project aims to tackle the deterioration of the QoL of head and neck cancer survivors through a personalized approach exploiting participants’ smartphones. A randomized clinical trial is ongoing in Italy and the UK to demonstrate the potentiality of non-obtrusive monitoring and AI in improving survivors’ QoL.
