Challenge: improve Quality of Life after Head and Neck Cancer

Head and Neck Cancer imposes an extremely high socioeconomic burden on patients due to treatment-induced morbidities, loss of workforce participation, social stigma, risks of new disease and long-term disability, making lifelong surveillance critical.

Achieving an optimal quality of life (QoL) after treatment is the primary goal in the management of Head and Neck Cancer patients.

BD4QoL objective is to improve Quality of Life after head and Neck Cancer through person-centred monitoring and follow-up by contribution of artificial intelligence and big data unobtrusively collected from mobile devices, in combination with multi-source clinical, socioeconomic data and patients reported outcomes. Predictive models of Quality of Life trajectories will allow anticipating risks, informing patients and caregivers for personalized interventions to timely intercept and prevent long-term effects of treatment.
